I want to die like Jesus.

JOKE
Rev. Peter Iyke happens to be an old priest. He was seriously sick on day and had a premonition of death. He now sent a message to a politician and a policeman to come. On their arrival, they were ushered into his bedroom where the preacher held out his hand and motioned them to sit on each side of the bed. Grasping their hands, he sighed contentedly, smiled and stared at the ceiling for a while. No one said anything. Both the politician and the policeman were astonished, having the presage that the preacher will ask them to be with him in his last moments. They were to be with him in his last moments. They were also dumb founded as the preacher had never given them any indication that he particularly liked bot of them.

Finally, the politician said, Rev. Sir, why did you ask us to come? Then the old priest mustered up his strength and then said weakly, Jesus died between two thieves and that is how I want to die too”.

GOOD NEWS!!!

Good day friend.
I happen to be privileged  to come in contact wth  your system either to fix it or for some other reason, and as a result I feel obliged to use this medium to share with you the greatest news you can ever hear- THE GOOD NEWS.
Before I continue, I would like to congratulate you if you’ve already know the Lord, but if you’ve not I pray that you’ll find it needful after reading this.
Once upon a time, in the beginning, God created man in his own image after his likeness. He was fearfully and wonderfully made, perfect and pure in all his ways. He was put in a beautiful garden and was made to tender it and to crown it all; he enjoyed the fellowship of God’s intimate presence and friendship.

CARELESS SOUL "poem"

O CARELESS SOUL
O careless soul
Will you not heed the pleadings of the Saviour?
Will you take for granted His sufferings and shame?
Will those bitter tears of His over you be in vain again today?
Will you not surrender your all to Him henceforth?

O careless soul
Why do you think things will continue the way it had always been?
Why do your ambitions deceive you that tomorrow will be better?
Why do you think there will be another opportunity after this one?
Why are you postponing the day of your salvation?

O careless soul
For how long do you think the Saviour will be waiting?
For how long are you sure you will live on earth?
For how much will you trade your eternal destiny?
For the time is at hand, the Saviour is knocking again today.

O careless soul
When will you let the Saviour into your heart?
When will you stop these arguments and break down in tears?
When will you cut off that relationship and receive Jesus?
When, when, when will you be set free from sin?

O concerned soul
The blood of Jesus is powerful to make you truly clean;
There is salvation in no other but this exalted name – JESUS;
There you are, not by works but by grace through faith,
The life of Christ will spring from within and the victory given.

O concerned soul
This is the only route to the celestial city of God.
Follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see God.
The standard cannot change for anyone – no respect of persons with God.
We can do nothing against the truth but for the truth.

O concerned soul
You can there on your knees seek God’s face for salvation so real.
You can be given the Spirit’s witness and the spirit of adoption.
You can be separate from the world and filth – wholly set apart.
You can join like minds to fellowship and seek your growth.

O soul, the Saviour is calling passionately, will you respond now?

Surrendering Pride

Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is of a humble spirit will obtain honor.
Surrendering Pride
Recently, I was shocked to learn from God that I had pride in my heart that I needed to get rid of. I say I was shocked because I always thought of pride as something that other people had issues with, and that these people were kind of dumb for ever puffing themselves up in such a way. I had also very recently written a message about humility because God showed me some things about what it really meant to be humble. I guess it hadn't entirely sunk in.
Proverbs 8:1,4,13,35,36 (NIV) "1 Does not Wisdom call out? Does not Understanding raise her voice?...4 'To you, O man, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. ...13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. ...35 For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. 36 But whoever fails to find me harms himself, all who hate me love death.'"
I also learned that pride is a sneaky kind of sin (well, most sin is sneaky.) that hides in your heart until you're so desperately miserable that you can't help but come crashing down at the feet of God, begging to be led out of whatever mess it is that you've landed yourself in. So that's why I was shocked. I was miserable and crying out to God for deliverance, when God said, "You have pride in your heart."
I said, "What? God, I think I heard You wrong."
Then, one night when I was telling my wife about how rough things were going at work and how mad I was about something, and she said, "Sounds like pride, Jonny." Well, I didn't like that one bit. And then finally, things really blew up and I just had to surrender.
Pride Defined
When I went to look the word 'Pride' up in the dictionary, it was interesting

Secondly, by sore chastenings. This is another means which God uses in delivering His people from sin’s dominion. "We have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their pleasure: but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of His holiness" (Heb_12:9-10). Those chastenings assume varied forms: sometimes they are external, sometimes internal, but whatever be their nature they are painful to flesh and blood. Sometimes these Divine chastisements are of long duration, and then the soul is apt to ask "why standest Thou afar off, O Lord? Why dost Thou hide Thyself in times of trouble?" (Psa_10:1), for it seems as though God has deserted us. Earnest prayer is made for a mitigation of suffering, but no relief is granted; grace is earnestly sought for meekly bowing to the rod, but unbelief, impatience, rebellion, seems to wax stronger and stronger, and the soul is hard put to it to believe in God’s love; but as Heb_12:11 tells us, "Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous; nevertheless, afterward it yieldeth the peaceful (peaceable, AV) fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby."
This life is a schooling, and chastenings are one of the chief methods God employs in the training of His children. Some

The Divine Side of Our Salvation
We must now enter into a little fuller detail of the Divine side of our salvation from the power and pollution of sin. When a sinner truly receives Christ as his Lord and Saviour, God does not then and there take him to Heaven; on the contrary, he is likely to be left down here for many years, and this world is a place of danger, for it lieth in the Wicked one (1Jo. Rom_5:19) and all pertaining to it is opposed to the Father (1Jo. Rom_2:16). Therefore the believer needs daily salvation from this hostile system. Accordingly we read that Christ "gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God our Father (Gal_1:4). Not only is the sinner not taken to Heaven when he first savingly believes, but, as we have seen, the evil nature is not taken out of him; nevertheless God does not leave him completely under its dominion, but graciously delivers him from its regal power. He uses a great variety of means to accomplish this.

But not only must the new nature be fed, it is equally necessary for our spiritual well-being that the old nature should be starved. This is what the apostle had in mind when he said, "Make not provision for the flesh, unto the lusts thereof" (Rom_13:14). To starve the old nature, to make not provision for the flesh, means that we abstain from everything that would stimulate our carnality; that we avoid, as we would a plague, all that is calculated to prove injurious to our spiritual welfare. Not only must we deny ourselves the pleasures of sin, shun such things as the saloon, theatre, dance, card-table, etc., but we must separate ourselves from the worldly companions, cease to read worldly literature, abstain from everything upon which we cannot ask God’s blessing. Our affections are to be set upon things above, and not upon things upon the earth (Col_3:2). Does this seem a high standard, and sound impracticable? Holiness in all things is that at which we are to aim, and failure to do so explains the leanness of so many Christians. Let the young believer realize that whatever does not help his spiritual life hinders it.

SALVATION FROM THE POWER OF SIN
This is a present and protracted process, and is as yet incomplete. It is the most difficult part of our subject, and upon it the greatest confusion of thought prevails, especially among young Christians. Many there are who, having learned that the Lord Jesus is the Saviour of sinners, have jumped to the erroneous conclusion that if they but exercise faith in Him, surrender to His Lordship, commit their souls into His keeping, He will remove their corrupt nature and destroy their evil propensities. But after they have really trusted in Him, they discover that evil is still present with them, that their hearts are still deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, and that no matter how they strive to resist temptation, pray for overcoming grace, and use the means of God’s appointing, they seem to grow worse and worse instead of better, until they seriously doubt if they are saved at all. They are not being saved.

IT WERE BETTER NOT TO BE BORN!!!

IT WERE BETTER NOT TO BE BORN!!!
*      Than to betray the Lord Jesus (Matthew 26: 24)
*      Than to deny His Lordship (John 8: 24)
*      Than to reject His salvation (Hebrews 2: 3)
*      Than to be ashamed of the Lord Jesus (Mark 8: 38)
*      Than to offend one of these little ones (Matthew 18: 6)
*      Than to blaspheme the Holy Ghost (Mark 3: 29)
*      Than to tread underfoot the Son of God (Hebrews 10: 29)
*      Than to despise the Spirit of Grace (Hebrews 10: 29)
*      Than to break one of these least commandments and die in such state (Matthew 5: 19)
*      Than to be in Hell (Revelation 20: 15)
*      Than to be a hairbreadth less the requirement of getting to Heaven (Revelation 21: 27)

Dear friend, where will you be when the trump of God shall sound?
Trouble awaits those who overlook, postpone or assume they are saved.
Examine critically and repent sincerely. Get assured by His Spirit. Goodbye.

5.         Never use a tooth pick or dental floss in public, if you must use these, excuse yourself from the public.
6.         When visiting the rest room in a social gathering “excuse me” is a that’s required.
7.         It is highly indecent to jump the queue, always wait for your turn, it shows you respect others.
8.         If lateness is inevitable, call ahead to inform as this reflects respect for others’ time.
9.         Phones, pagers and such gadgets should be switched to the silent mode in an assembly.
10.       Be mindful of littering your environment, etiquette demands otherwise.
11.       Corrupt  language such as the “F” word is unseemly in a polite conversation.
12.       Effective measures should be undertaken to forestall any kind of odour.

SALVATION, what does it mean to you? series 3

First, our salvation from the pleasure or love of sin may be recognized by sin’s becoming a burden to us. This is truly a spiritual experience. Many souls are loaded down with worldly anxieties, who know nothing of what it means to be bowed down with a sense of guilt. But when God takes us in hand, the iniquities and transgressions of our past life are made to lie as an intolerable load upon the conscience. When we are given a sight of ourselves as we appear before the eyes of the thrice holy God, we will exclaim with the Psalmist, "For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me" (Psa_40:12). So far from sin being pleasant, it is now felt as a cruel incubus, a crushing weight, and unendurable load. The soul is "heavy laden" (Mat_11:28) and bowed down. A sense of guilt oppresses and

And how is this miracle of grace accomplished, or rather, exactly what does it consist of? Negatively, not by eradicating the evil nature, nor even by refining it. Positively, by communicating a new nature, a holy nature, which loathes that which is evil, and delights in all that is truly good. To be more specific. First, God save His people from the pleasure or love of sin by puffing His holy awe in their hearts, for "the fear of the Lord is to hate evil" (Pro_8:13), and again, "the fear of the Lord is to depart from evil" (Pro_6:16). Second. God saves His people from the pleasure of sin by communicating to them a new and vital principle: ‘the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit" (Rom_5:5), and where the love of God rules the heart, the love of sin is dethroned. Third, God saves His people from the love of sin by the Holy Spirit’s drawing their affections unto things above, thereby taking them off the things which formerly enthralled them.
If on the one hand the unbeliever hotly denies that lit is in love with sin, many a believer is often hard put to persuade himself that he has been saved from the love

SALVATION FROM THE PLEASURE OF SIN
It is here that God begins His actual application of salvation unto His elect. God saves us from the pleasure or love of sin before He delivers us from the penalty or punishment of sin. Necessarily so, for it would be neither an act of holiness nor of righteousness were He to grant full pardon to one who was still a rebel against Him, loving that which He hates. God is a God of order throughout, and nothing ever more evidences the perfections of His works than the orderliness of them. And how does God save His people from the pleasure of sin? The answer is, By imparting to them a nature which hates evil and loves holiness. This takes place when they are born again, so that actual salvation begins with regeneration. Of course it does: where else could it commence? Fallen man can never perceive his desperate need of salvation nor come to Christ for it, till he has been renewed by the Holy Spirit.
"He hath made everything beautiful in his time" (Ecc_3:11), and much of the beauty of God’s spiritual handiwork is lost upon us unless

SMILING TO HEAL.

THE POWER OF A SMILE
Smile is a powerful weapon one can break an ice with. A smile induces smiles on the faces of others. It is smiles on the faces of others. It is a smiles on the faces of others. It is a ripple effect. A smile is something you can’t give away, it away comes back to you. It seems that nothing has more power to elevate a mood that the impact of a genuine smile. In the words of Charles Reade: “Beauty is power, a smile its sword”.

BENEFITS OF SMILING
A Health immune system
Various studies conducted over the years have shown that smiles and laughter can boost the immunes system. This will reduce the risk of minor illness to the chronic diseases such as cancer.
Helps to relieve stress
Smiles and laughter help to release hormones called endorphins (“feel-good hormone”). This group of hormones is responsible for the runner’s high. They are designed to reduce physical and emotional pain, and to bring general well-being to the body. If you don’t have time to get to the gym for a good run, try adding a smile and a bit of laughter to boost these natural stress-relieving hormones.
A beautiful Face
Why do many people spend lots of money on make-up and cosmetic procedures to look more attractive, and then walk around with a scowl on their faces? The most beautiful face in the world will not be pleasing with down-turned lips and a sour expression. In contrast, a plain face can be transformed by the power of a smile. If you want to look better, try a genuine smile.
A smile inspired others
Mother Theresa said that we shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do. When you smile at friends, family, and do. When you smile at friends, family, and even strangers, you not only boost their mood for the better. The stranger you graced with your smile may go on to pass the kindness to someone else.

HERO OF THE CROSS

Adoniram Judson is famous for his oft-quoted statement “the  outlook is as bright as the promises of God.”Again he wrote, if they ask ‘What the prospect of ultimate success is there? tell them ‘As much as there is an almighty and faithful; God, who will perform His promises’”
It was that faith that kept him and Ann, his first wife, laboring for seven years before they baptized their first convert, and after twelve years had only eighteen. It was faith that carried them on when their first baby died, faith that kept him plodding till he wrote a Burmese grammar and dictionary and after ten years completed a Burmese New Testament. In spite of repeated attacks of fever and dysentery, Judson believed on.When supporting friends decided that he is not worthy of support because he could show little fruit he believed on. He wrote, “it requires a much longer time than I have been here to make an impact on a heathen people… if we live some twenty or thirty years, they may hear me again.

Healthy eating tip 9: Limit sugar and saltImage:Eat Healthy
If you succeed in planning your diet around fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and good fats, you may find yourself naturally cutting back on foods that can get in the way of your healthy diet—sugar and salt.
Sugar
Sugar causes energy ups and downs and can add to health and weight problems. Unfortunately, reducing the amount of candy, cakes, and desserts we eat is only part of the solution. Often you may not even be aware of the amount of sugar you’re consuming each day. Large amounts of added sugar can be hidden in foods such as bread, canned soups and vegetables, pasta sauce, margarine, instant mashed potatoes, frozen dinners, fast food, soy sauce, and ketchup. Here are some tips:
§  Avoid sugary drinks. One 12-oz soda has about 10 teaspoons of sugar in it, more than the daily recommended limit! Try sparkling water with lemon or a splash of fruit juice.Eat Healthy
§  Sweeten foods yourself. Buy unsweetened iced tea, plain yogurt, or unflavored oatmeal, for example, and add sweetener (or fruit) yourself. You’re likely to add far less sweetener than the manufacturer would have.
§  Eat naturally sweet food such as

Crazy People ygistMadness…the stuff of genius      SERIES1Crazy People ygist

In life the truly great achievements and progress have been made by men whom the world had deemed crazy, mad at one point or the other. These people, were not the most intelligent or influential of their time, but had the courage, boldness and strength to be unique and have there inner madness show forth.
“There was never a genius without a tincture of madness.” …Aristotle
Madness is the ability to stand, on ones ideals holding on tight with boldness and conviction refusing to conform. It is the ability to seek for answers where no one else dares, the boldness to seek the unseekable, question the unquestionable, answer the unanswerable, and do the undoable. It is the desire and ability to follow your dreams, goals and visions when no one else believes. Madness separates intelligence from genius. The intelligent man conforms while the genius takes the risk.
“I am interested in madness I believe it is the biggest thing in the human race and the most constant. How do you take away from a man his madness without taking away his identity?”

WHERE SHALL WISDOM BE FOUND?

BUT WHERE SHALL WISDOM BE FOUND? (Job  28 : 12)
I breeze into this discussion on this rhetorical note. But where shall wisdom be found? Man in psychology, philosophy, sociology, education, politics is in dire search for wisdom and various people have defined it in various ways. Some say they have attained it while some are still striving to attain it.
The Microsoft Encarta dictionary 2009 defines it in various ways; they call it good sense; wise decision; accumulated learning; opinion widely held; ancient teachings or sayings. Which is correct?
A serious observation is drawn by the inspired writer ‘Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living’ (vs 13). Wow! But I thought there are people who have been termed wise by their diverse studies, how come is the Lord saying that it is not in the land of the living. Further verses reveal that “It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold… for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
If  then wisdom is as priceless, indispensable and valuable as this, such a person will be a fool to lack it. Dear reader,

Fruits and vegetables are the foundation of a healthy diet. They are low in calories and nutrient dense, which means they are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.
Try to eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables every day and with every meal—the brighter the better. Colorful, deeply colored fruits and vegetables contain higher concentrations of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants—and different colors provide different benefits, so eat a variety. Aim for a minimum of five portions each day.
Some great choices include:

THE DANGER OF NEAR CHRISTIANITY

THE DANGER OF NEAR CHRISTIANITY
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (Rev 3: 14, 15)

So calmly do I address this article to all Christians on this campus; to all who are named by one fellowship, gathering or not. The Spirit bids me exhort us all that we should examine ourselves once again with the imminence of the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A near Christian is one who only has a form of godliness but denies the power thereof. Such a person is a misfit for the kingdom and a misfit for the society. Such a one neither enjoys the fullness of blessings of the righteous nor completely enjoys the fading glory of the world. Such a one neither benefits from God’s fullness, the bounties accruing to those who worship in His sanctuary nor explores the temporary beauty the world has to offer. Unfortunately both have a common destiny. Hence Jesus says, I would that you were either cold or hot. Dear reader, may I calmly give an advise, it would be better for one to be a full sinner, completely enjoy the toys and mirage of sin, than to be an almost or partial Christian for both cannot see God.

A near Christian may go to church, sing praises or even be a lead singer, may pastor a large church, may speak with the tongues of men and angels, give offerings and tithe meticulously, pay as it were a level of reverence to God and profess good works as in giving alms and helping the needy but has not laid that life in humble consecration and yieldedness; has not the love of God reigning supreme within. There may still be times such
